ESO’s Very Large Telescope (VLT) has spotted a quasar with the most
powerful energetic output found to date. It's around five times stronger
than anything observed before.
The rate that energy is dispersed by the mass of material ejected from SDSS J1106+1939 is the equivalent of more than 100x the total output of the entire Milky Way galaxy.
